research near the area of Scotland our ancestors came from, it is a s follows:

Baptism of Johne McRannald: "11 August 1672 Johne McRannald and
Catherine McIlstalker had a man child baptized before Patt. Campbel l called
Johne. Witness Duncane Smyth and the......"
They stated old parochial registers of the parish of Moveray a nd
Glenoroy are blank from May 1654 to Dec. 1699. Very few parishes in t hese
counties have extant records for the 17th Century: Gaelic speaking ar eas had an
oral tradition and kept very few written records. Parish records wer e blank
during the time period Johne McRannald and Catherine McIlstalker woul d have
been married. And no more baptism records for other children......."
